About Me
- Name: Rob Walton
Writer, Director, Actor, Cartoonist, Publisher, Storyboard Artist, Movie Extra… Who is Rob Walton? Hailing from the frozen tundra of East Toronto, I’ve been working in the Animation Biz since 1991 when I joined Nelvana’s design department to do my part in bringing fifty-two episodes of Beetlejuice to television. In 1994 I began storyboarding full time. I became an Assistant Director in 1997 and made the move to Supervising Director in 2000 on Nelvana’s “Committed” starring Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara. As well as my work in animation, I have written and drawn several comic book series, most notably, “The Devil’s Hammer” a Grendel Tale for Dark Horse in 1993, and my own self-published political and social satire, “Ragmop,” from 1995-1997 for which I earned two Eisner Award Nominations. I am currently re-editing and updating Ragmop as a single volume, 350 page graphic novel for publication in October of 2006. I have written four un-produced screenplays, two un-produced television pilots for animation, one novel in progress, and countless wayward comic book scripts for Marvel and DC. Needless to say, I take rejection well.

Hey Mr. Rob Walton!
I believe we met at SDCC'97, at the TRILOGY TOUR (Medley,Smith & Vess).
I was always a fan of RAGMOP, with the classical animation approach.
Unfortunately I missed out on ordering the book through Diamond. If you have the time for a swing out west-Calgary has a show taking place on April 29th,2007.

I came across your welcome post on CBIA and would like to help a little by offering a link to MAPLE INK: http://www.mapleink.ca/
We are a small group of creatives spread out in a few cities in Canada and are always looking for like minded creators.
We will be doing a few workshops for the Calgary Public Library this spring, and a gallery show tied in. I will be inviting creators for submissions to the show, and if you have promotional material- we can distribute those as well.
Good to see your work coming to print again.

Hey Guys,
I don't have time for a longer reply at this moment, but I did want to aknowledge that I've read your posts and will get back to them soon.
Thanks,
Rob
hi Craig and Gerald,
Thanks for the words of support and helpful offers of advice. everyone has been very generous with helping me get back into puplishing.
I've order 2000 copies of the first printing of Ragmop, enough to cover the first reorders and get me through Christmas I hope. I'm already planning a second printing and a limited edition hardcover for San Diego (or something like that). I'd also like to get onto the next graphic novel sometime soon.
As for original art, it will eventually go up for sale but I'm honestly hoping I can get a price that makes it worth selling. Otherwise, I'll probably just hold onto the art.
Thanks for the tip on the Calgary Show. I'm looking for any excuse to travel and I'm hoping a 464 page graphic novel will be enough to get me out the door.
Any other questions please just post away.
Peace to all,
Rob Walton
